[googlefont=Quicksand] [attr="class","likedo"] [attr="class","likedotitle"] [attr="class","likedotitle2"]NAMING CLAN CATS [attr="class","likedoinfo"]Alpenglow has a relaxed naming policy for clan characters. If the prefix and suffix have to do with something cats could reasonably know of, it will typically be allowed. Moon- and related prefixes, a.i. Lunar-, are allowed. Overtly morbid names will generally not be allowed unless the name is given by a leader in roleplay, rather than in history, allowing for the leader to consent to the name change. For example, you will not be allowed to name your clan cat Deadheart, as it would be very unlikely (and tragic, honestly) for a queen to name their kit Deadkit. Even if the kit had been thought dead at birth, the queen likely would have felt grateful that it lived, and given it a name standard with clan traditions, such as Whitekit, for its white pelt. Typically, the prefix given to a cat will refer to their appearance somehow, though prefixes such as Brave- will be allowed as they are canon and the parents may have been merely hoping that their kit would grow up to be brave. Keep in mind that at birth, when a prefix is assigned, the adult eye color of your character would not be known, so it would be strange for a queen to name their kit 'Bluekit' if the kit is, say, a calico, in reference to the eyes alone; all kits have blue eyes. Likewise, it would be rather odd for a completely white cat to be named Blackpelt, as it wouldn't make any sense, though it would be fine for a primarily white cat with black markings to be named Blackmask/Blackspots/etc. In order to keep things creative and distinct, Alpenglow allows only one of each prefix in each clan. This means that there may not be an Iceflower and an Icestorm in Duskclan; however, there can be an Iceflower in Glacierclan and an Icestorm in Duskclan.
