[attr="class","likedotitle2"]ABOUT THE CLANS
[attr="class","likedoinfo"]Duskclan Traits: outgoing, adventurous, fun-loving, relaxed
Glacierclan Traits: harsh, more aggressive, survivors, clever, resourceful
Glacierclan is also known for being bigger in general, with thicker fur, and it is more common to encounter polydactyl Glacierclan cats. Maine coons, Norwegian Forest cats, etc, are the types of cats most often found in Glacierclan.
*Not all cats of either clan are any particular way, the above are just certain traits more likely to be found within their respective clans. Please be as creative as you wish!
Dusk, a massive black maine coon, and Glacier, an agender cat with a silvery gray-blue pelt, were mates once. Dusk was fun-loving and laid back, always ready for the next adventure; traits many Duskclan cats still have to this day. Glacier, on the other hand, was aggressive and often harsh, always focused on survival, like their descendants today, in Glacierclan. Dusk and Glacier had a large family. Some members were adoptive; cats they had encountered along the way, who had determined it was easier to survive with greater numbers. Others were their kits, their siblings, even their parents.
Dusk was a brave warrior, and one on one, no one could match his ferocity in battle. He'd scarcely ever been bested, and was young and strong, yet ultimately lacking intelligence. Glacier, on the other hand, was cunning with a quick wit; their mind was the sharpest of anyone's. The two were natural leaders and complements to each other. Unfortunately, they were also always at each other's throats. Dusk wanted to focus on looking for the best territory; Glacier argued that it was better to stay where they were and prepare for winter. Though the two loved each other, they could do nothing but bicker.
Finally, Glacier decided to go their own way. Those of the group that agreed with their leadership strategies went with them. From this group, Glacierclan was formed, and eventually the ancestors blessed Glacierstar with nine lives. Those who hadn't gone with Glacier became Duskclan, led by Duskstar, who was also given nine lives in order to serve his clan. Prophecy foretold that if the two leaders ever met in battle, it would lead to not only strife, but great disaster.
For many seasons, there was peace. Glacierstar's clan thrived on the tundras, despite the harsh winds and scarce prey. They found ways to keep warm, and meadows free from ice where they could occasionally catch voles or rabbits, collecting herbs when needed. Yet their existence was much more tenuous than that of Duskclan, who settled on the coast with an abundance of sea creatures to hunt along the black sand beaches and in tide pools. While Glacierclan shunned outsiders, breeding amongst themselves instead, Duskclan welcomed loners and kittypets who could be of use and bring new blood to the clan.
Eventually, Glacierstar grew tired of Duskclan flaunting their vitality, and made moves to take territory for their own clan, so that they could benefit from both the open tundras and the waters Duskclan fished from. As was foretold, when Glacierstar and Duskstar met in battle, spilling each other's blood, the volcano that had long lain dormant erupted, smothering the lands in ash. The former mates were killed by the chaos, though many of their clanmates survived, forced to carry on without them.
In the present, Duskstar and Glacierstar reside in Starclan. The two continue to do nothing but bicker and snap at each other, but can provide useful advice if persuaded to stop long enough to listen to a visiting medicine cat or living leader.
